Timberline Commences 30000-Foot Drill Program at South Eureka, Nevada
("Timberline" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the resumption of exploration and drilling at the South Eureka property. The program will include a minimum of 30,000 feet of drilling, focusing on the expansion and upgrading of mineral resources in the project company's flagship Lookout Mountain. The program will also test several priority sites across the 23-square mile property, ranging from areas known to carry significant gold mineralization in previously untested structural targets.South Eureka property is located on the southern tip of Nevada Battle Mountain / Eureka Trend prolific along strike and a few miles south of Barrick Gold to two million ounces of Archimedes / Ruby Hill Mine. South Eureka has three large mineralized trends (Ratto Ridge, Oswego, and Windfall) and includes the project at an advanced stage of Lookout Mountain with a pipeline of earlier stage projects that have increased gold production, gold estimates historical and / or mineralized drill intersections.
Timberline president and CEO, Paul Dircksen stated, "analysis and consistent recoveries excellent 2010 season in the field have confirmed the results of prior exploration, strengthening our belief in the potential of short-term development of low capital, low operating cost, heap leach gold mine in Lookout Mountain. We are currently conducting an internal study to better assess the scope and assess the economic sensitivity of the project. We are also expanding our exploration and drilling in other areas of South Eureka property, many of which have the potential to host other gold deposits."
Lookout Mountain sedimentary rocks contain gold mineralization, most of which are amenable to low cost heap leach recovery. Mineralized intersections from outside the area defined resources, pierced by the operators of Timberline and before, show that the deposit remains open laterally and at depth and drilling is likely to significantly expand the gold resources. Timberline initial NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate at Lookout Mountain has been disclosed in our press release March 21, 2011 (http://www.timberline-resources.com/main.php?page=190&press=144).
